Does the law of attraction really work ?

by Patricia Chong
Yes , I believe the law of attraction does work because what you transmit out to the universe is what you are going to get in return. If you transmit negative thoughts out then you will attract negative things back to you. If positive thoughts then you will attract positive things back. Your thoughts become things. When you think good thoughts you manifest them inside and out for the best. Our life will start to progress smoothly by applying the law of attraction to make it work for us by transforming of our thoughts to become the things we dream of and always wanted.
The power of imagination is amazing, what we dream and desire will happen if we could change our conscious mindset to think positively and tell ourself we can be successful and rich, we put this thoughts constantly to our subconscious mind and let it work for us. Our subconscious mind does not reason or question. Is like our willing servant constantly out picturing in our world whatever we put into it. If you give it the thought you are always sick, useless, poor and ugly or that the world is horrid and nobody loves you or care about you or you are unlucky all the time, no good fortune will smile on you then your subconscious will go to work on all your negative thoughts and make those thoughts happen.
In order to make the law of attraction works on you, you need to change your mindset right away from negative to positive in order to attract good things to enter your life. To change your subconscious mind, work on your conscious mind to see things differently and think positive thoughts to attract what you need and then program them into your subconscious to allow it to happen. Tell yourself you are powerful, magnificent being living in an abundant universe that is ready and willing to richly provide all your desires and dream to come true. Keep telling yourself that everything in the universe is for you. There is no opposition towards your desire for good things and use the laws of the universe to open your heart to gratefully receive what is given to you.
Positive energy are stronger than negative so it wont take long for you to see a shift in your outer affairs if you take some time each day to relax and close your eyes and reprogram your subconscious mind. Let your subconscious mind to be in charge to think all good things will come to you and you only attract the good into your life. The conscious mind will work on attracting all the good thoughts from your subconscious and making it happen.

Brendy Barr’s excerpted article on Managing Thought: How Do Your Thoughts Rule Your World?
Lore is an internationally recognized executive mentor and the founder and CEO of Managing Thought, LLC which helps individuals and organizations to develop self-awareness and change how they think to attain long-lasting success.
“The keys to success in work and in life, even in difficult times, are the same – self-awareness, self-mastery and being on purpose,” says Lore. “Without these keys, or if we don’t know how to use these keys, we are plagued with self-doubt, worry and stress. By managing our thoughts we can achieve balance, happiness and success in every aspect of life.”
Lore brings a unique perspective, extensive experience, and profound insight to the breakthrough concepts in this book, and teaches you to put Managing Thought into practice:
- Discover what you truly want and how to achieve it.
- Identify and free yourself of thoughts that are not working for you and waste time, energy and money.
- Discover and release limiting perceptions and beliefs.
- Choose your intentions and shape your thoughts to create the results and life you intend.
- Be fully present and make the most of each moment every day.
Managing Thought serves as an indispensable guide to people in many different occupations and relationships who want to change the way they think and improve their lives and organizations. Corporate leaders, parents, educators, lawyers, students, medical professionals and clergy, as well as people facing challenges such as unemployment, low self-esteem, negativity and lack of balance, all benefit from the book’s resources.
Unlike most other business and personal development books, Managing Thought provides the tools and a step-by-step process to banish habitual, counterproductive thinking in order to change the course of one’s personal and professional life and achieve what is truly significant and of value to them. There are several written exercises in applying the principals of Managing Thought throughout the book and these exercises can also be downloaded for free from the website. Lore also offers additional, free online tools, including a self-assessment, via the Managing Thought website .
For example, the first exercise in Managing Thought asks readers to imagine a life well lived and write down seven words to describe it. Of those seven words, the readers then choose one that is currently the most significant to them and then describe what they are like at work and home when they are living this word – what are they doing, how are they being and what good does it bring them. This exercise in self-awareness is a first step in understanding one’s thoughts and identifying what’s truly important.
One of the online tools Lore offers is the How Do Your Thoughts Rule Your World? ™ Self-Assessment, which is available on the Managing Thought website. This is a free self-assessment that measures how your thoughts rule your world. Lore encourages readers to take the assessment before and after they read the book to compare results and see their change. Readers can also store their self-assessments and revisit them to evaluate their progress.
And to support followers of Managing Thought on their journeys, Lore offers the Forward Thinking™ Gentle Reminder E-Column, an email note with advice on how to manage your thoughts in everyday circumstances, deal with the challenges in practicing self-awareness, and being on purpose. Each column also has a blog for open discussion.
Putting Lore’s concepts into practice through all of the tools she provides is what sets Managing Thought apart from “self help” books and has earned her endorsements from corporate leaders, executive coaches, educators, parents and students.
“This book takes the power of positive thinking to a completely new level and teaches us how to actually manage our thoughts to be creative, inspired and impactful in all that we do,” says Gordon Krater, CPA, Group Managing Partner for Plante & Moran, PLLC, the nation’s 12th largest public accounting and business advisory firm. “The concepts are practical and real and are equally beneficial at home or in the workplace.”

Land Your Dream Job in Three Steps with Positive Thinking Power

How would you like to get your dream job easily and effortlessly, without the grind, grief and grumbles of the typical job hunt?
Now, if you prefer to spend weeks, months or years trying to get hired, sending out waves of resumes with little or no response, networking like crazy in the hopes of making some sort of useful connection, and going on frustrating, pointless interviews, don’t read any further, because this article isn’t for you.
And if you’re the type who believes that you make things happen only as a result of hard work, determination, perseverance and ‘luck,’ or you’re a person who thinks rigidly and is unwilling to open your mind to new ideas, stop right here because this article may be too ‘touchy-feely’ for you.
This article is for people who are ready to try something different and something that really does work, regardless of how strange it may first appear to be.
I know it works because I’ve gotten every job I ever wanted, even if I didn’t have the qualifications, didn’t have any experience, didn’t know anyone on the inside, and regardless of what was happening with the economy, how big the company was or how tough the competition was.
I am using it now as a business owner to attract new business, as a homeowner to attract the money to pay my bills, and as a Baby Boomer with a body that occasionally reminds me that I’m not 17 anymore.
And when I was 17, I used it to get into the college of my choice when I didn’t have the grades or SAT scores, didn’t know anyone on the faculty or administration, wasn’t a minority or foreign student, didn’t have a scholarship or grant, or any kind of ‘in’ whatsoever.
What I used was the Law of Attraction, which you might have heard of as “The Secret,” thanks to the DVD and book of the same name. The Law of Attraction is the most powerful law in the universe, and it states that you attract anything you focus on through your thoughts, feelings and beliefs – whether you’re aware of them or not and whether you actually want them or not.
Here are some of the many ways the Law of Attraction has been expressed:
“Like attracts like.”
“Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you.”
“As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.”
“It is done unto you as you believe.”
“For whoever have, to him more shall be given, and he who does not have, even that which he has will be taken from him.”
“Thoughts are things.”
Yes, you can literally attract anything through your thoughts, including your dream job.
Here’s how:
- Know What You Want
- Create a mental video of yourself at work in your dream job: What are you doing, wearing or reading?
- What does your workplace look like? How much money are you making? What is your work schedule? Who are your co-workers? How do you feel doing this work in this environment with these people?
Replay this mental video several times a day, and especially right before you go to sleep, until your dream job shows up. Use affirmations and visualization to convince your mind that your dream job is already yours, even if you can’t yet see it, haven’t a clue how it will come to you or if it seems impossible.
Be Who You Are
The fastest way to manifest your dream job is to think, speak and act as if you already have it, so do the things that a person who has that job would do:
Have a business card printed specifying the kind of work you see yourself doing.
Attend trade functions and mingle with your peers.
Take classes and seminars and read industry publications.
Keep your mind filled with thoughts of how great it is to do the work you love.
Never allow fear, doubt, misgivings or anyone else’s opinions to sway you from your conviction that what you want is already yours. Negative thoughts will block or delay your ‘good’ from coming to you.
Do What Feels Right
When you embrace the ‘knowing’ and embody the ‘being-ness’ of having that job, you’ll be intuitively guided to take the most appropriate actions towards it, and you’ll find you won’t have to do very much at all, and whatever you do will be exceptionally productive.
You can forget the job boards, the interviews that waste your time and the months of worrying because here is where the coincidences, synchronicities and ‘luck’ occur:
- You’ll ‘happen’ to be in the right place at the right time.
- By ‘accident,’ you’ll run into the very person who you’ve been trying to reach.
- You’ll feel guided to call one particular person who, it turns out, was looking for someone just like you right now.
That golden opportunity, or the money or resources you needed to accomplish your goal will simply be there. - It may seem like a miracle, but it’s really not. This is just the Law of Attraction ‘demonstrating’ your belief that you have that dream job! Since “it is done unto you as you believe,” if you really believe that dream job is yours, it will be.
You attract whatever you focus on, so focus only on what you want, not on what you don’t want. Either way, it’s already on its way to you. And so it is.

Today I had the pleasure of enjoying the kindness of men. This morning on my way to the train station, as I was walking to open the door to the escalator, a gentleman who was behind me ran up ahead of me to open the door for me. How kind! I of course thanked him.
And also on the way home, again on the train, all the seats were taken but another gentleman kindly gave his seat up to me. You see there are many kind people out there. This kindness I will definately be paying forward.
Any unexpected kindness happened to you today?
